A  LIFETIME  JOURNEY!

Welcome to my website!

Travel has always been, and will remain, a very crucial part of my life. From my earliest days – I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, due to my father’s job assignment, I have reveled in the thrill of travel. Thanks to my fathers posting and business travels I had already notched up 15 countries before the age of six!

      After spending almost 11 years overseas, my father has returned to Germany which allowed me to spend my formative years within the German educational system, yet still the "wanderlust" never deserted me. And, as a sprightly 12 year old, the allure of Indonesia still beckoned me, in part due to my parents' fond and vivid reflections of life in Indonesia, the world's largest archipelago. My curiosity aroused to new heights, Indonesia became a passion of interest for me, only satiated as a backpacker in ’97, when I traveled this wonderful archipelago extensively.

      My education (graduate in business administration) has led me into the hotel & tourism industry - the dear chance to see and experience the world, its sceneries, people and diverse cultures. Indeed, my hotel apprenticeship was the start of my passion for photography with the purchase of my first analog SLR Camera. Whilst my first photographic adventures were not particularly impressing, everyone must make a start somewhere.....and I have learnt my lessons, as this collection online exemplifies.

      My career in the hospitality industry has provided so many insights and travel opportunities, primarily with some international, award-winning luxury resorts & hotels but also with some of the world’s finest cruise lines, that I have worked and resided in 8 countries (Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, St. Vincent & The Grenadines, United Arab Emirates, United States, Switzerland and Germany). However, to date I was given the opportunity to visit over 500 destinations in almost 100 countries on all continents so far (please see appendix).

      Furthermore, participating in four world cruises as well as extensive private travelling, certainly opened up the world to me and I have captured the sights, culture and people of each destination extensively. From the Arctic to Antarctica, from South America to Asia and beyond, my camera has recorded these magical moments for posterity and produced a vast archive of "moments on film". Whether it was a thrilling "Metropolis" like Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo or New York or the "paradisiac" islands of the South Pacific or the Indian Ocean, my camera has always been a constant companion.

      In fact this website publishes over a hundred of some of my favorite shots, my archive runs to over 10.000 images, which I plan to review and exhibit online in the future.

Sister ship, together with Destroyer D 186 "Mölders" and Destroyer D 187 "Rommel", to the DDG 28 Charles F. Adams class of the United States Navy. Destroyer "Lütjens" was christened after Naval Commander Admiral Günther Lütjens ( 25 May 1889 - 27 May 1941 ),Commander of the famous battleship "Bismarck" on her last journey in World War II.
